The floor grid is coated with a plastic type covering and makes it very soft and easy on your puppies feet. We put a blanket folded in the corner and the grid allows the puppy to stay dry and avoids the pup from getting dirty or being in a messy situation. I received the product 2 days after order. The package wasn’t damaged at all. Amazon basics products are actually very nice. And now about the play pen, I use the pen as a wall instead of a closed cage because I wanted to train my puppy his boundaries in the house. I had to block off the kitchen. The product is quite sturdy because of the rubber sleeves they provide with it for indoor and there are “U-Pins” for outside (16 pins and 16 sleeves included with a manual for assembly instructions are included in the box) which are hammered into the soil. The fence is appx. 10kg and 1 compartment is 2 feet wide and there are 8 compartments (Octagon). Obviously, it wouldn’t stand as a wall, I had to put it in a zig zag manner. Really easy to assemble, quite sturdy but your pet may push it if it (an adult dog of course) but would not be able to come out because of the 3 locks. The rubber sleeves however arre not really useful because your dog/puppy will soon start chewing on it and you don’t want it to swallow that. Must buy if you stay busy at home and can’t go and stop your dog from going anywhere in the house. The best part about this is the price. The other pens available on amazon are made out of cloth like material and are much more expensive. The pet cartel.
